Ufiecle assistance (english language) please? by ripley82008-08-26 07:37:03
  IMO, yes. by kf4oyt 2008-08-26 08:11:45
I have heard/read exactly that construction several times.

After learning some very poor communications styles growing up, I had to start paying close conscious attention to how people talk. Other than in technical fields where the vocabulary is one of the job skills, most people seem to be very casual about modifying words. Someone else already mentioned verbification of nouns (Googled anything today?), but that's just the most obvious example. (When did 'verbify' become a word?)

Some people also believe that English is such a mashup of things "borrowed" from other languages that half the vocabulary has already been twisted out of shape.

And I would normally add that I could be wrong... but that would make this an OT post. Can't have that too often, now can we? 8))
