Devils Advocate: Why is cabling so hard? by Jeff_UK2008-08-26 01:35:48
Cabling is not really hard, just time-consuming. by JimK 2008-08-26 01:57:00
We have a hotel we use a lot but we're not the only users of those rooms. We also run courses in Cambridge less often, and that's where the main problem can lie: the trainer (i.e. me) has to take all the kit and set up by themselves, often on a sunday night after a three-hour drive. Cabling can add a significant chunk of time, and often the room layout means having cables across walkways or doorways. Disconnecting everything takes even longer, and I would have to do that after the course before the drive home.

One option that might help is if somebody makes cable reels, similar to power extension cords. You know, plug in one end to the switch and unreel in the general direction of the computer. That would speed up the knowk-down.
