Wireless networking recommendations, please. by JimK2008-08-26 01:11:31
Reliability is inverse to distance.. by EnzoMatrix 2008-08-26 01:18:25
Offcourse also the surroundings are important.

But for the sake of simplicity lets say a standard classroom, with a max of 8 computers and no (mentionable) outside interference?

Due to the amount of computers, I'd recommend a 802.11g network. This also depends on the amount of traffic the given apps generate, but the 'g' claims to have 54MBit bandwidth, compared to 'b's 11.

As for names..? I have a Sitecom that hasn't failed me as of yet.. Linksys has good ones too.. But if you wanna go professional and budget isn't Really an issue.. Check Cisco.

(Sidenote: Linksys is in fact Cisco, but I suppose there's more support.)
