Never underestimate the power of huge piles of money. :) Google was willing to put in $4.6B (or so) to buy the licenses. I don't think they're going to produce just some random crud. Lest anyone think otherwise, I actually know nothing about Android. I'm just disgusted by (and envious of) the huge piles of money and what could be done with it.
