go into: " System > Administration > Software Sources "

and make sure you have: " Software restricted by copyright or legal issues (multiverse) " check-marked

and perhaps the "Third-party software" tab, "Partner" check-marked too.

After that, I don't recall whether you need to download some of these codecs on your own, or whether it will all be doable "on demand" via Firefox when such a codec is called for.
