icantly different in makeup - Ni-MH requires a different charger to charge; a Ni-Cd charger will make a Ni-MH battery overcharge and either short out or possibly vent/explode.

Lithium-Ion and Lithium-Polymer are ever more different, and require special chargers and usually a coulomb counter chip on the battery itself to prevent overcharge - Li-Ion and Li-Po =will= explode and burn if overcharged, and you can't put the fire out with water once it's ignited, need a Class D extinguisher for burning metal.
