<vent> I don't think I will ever understand this by Classic_Jon 2008-08-22 14:55:11
behavior in some people. Anyone shed some light on it for me?

This happens all the time when I talk with some of our merchants. The owner/manager will have someone ELSE call in and ask a question and be standing beside them waiting. Then, when I ask a question for clarification or give them the answer they person actually on the phone with me plays "middleman" and relay EVERYTHING being said between me and the Owner/Manager instead of the owner/manager *%$^#$ talking to me DIRECTLY. to me this is not only *rude* but stupid as well!

They then have the **GALL** to get mad and tell me I am not answering their questions when their chosen relay can not repeat what I just told them correctly!!! They also get angry when I say "Can I please talk to the person you are relaying this information to so that we can get this taken care of more efficiently and avoid mis-understandings." The normal response I get is "They are busy right now and can not talk to you"
O.O!! WHAT?!?! Wait...they are standing there, waiting for the relay person to tell them the information aren't they? They are busily telling the relay that they disagree or don't understand...if they can stand there and do that...then they can BLOODY WELL PICK UP THE PHONE and talk to me directly!!!!!

I have told people doing this before to have the manager call back when they are free to talk and then hung up... amazing that the manager playing this "relay game" then calls back themselves all mad that I hung up!! WTH...weren't you "too busy to talk" a few seconds ago??

Funny also, how when I talk to them directly...the situation normally gets resolved in 1 minute or less...followed by them saying "Oh, well that was a lot easier than I thought."

Situations like this make me want to scream and go postal they are so rude and ignorant! gaaahhhhhhhhhh!!!
