I understand in part -- for most of the last 20 years I had "MY" personal, dedicated feline overlord who loved on me and "abused" me. Almost two years ago, my FO (feline overlord, of course!) died. I waited 6 months to find another (Siamese). I bring home TWO kittens. What happens? One latches onto my daughter and the other onto my husband, neither giving a d4 for me! I miss snuggling with FOs. A lot. I guess it's a good thing my Doberman (gotten after the FOs made their choices) is highly velcro and loves to snuggle.
