I believe I also mentioned that I don't claim to be entirely consistent, all of the time?
The illusion of separation is a very powerful one, and, in fact, it is a necessary one for us to be able to interact. Without it, we have no motivation to continue to strive, continue to advance ourselves, continue to seek out a good life.
Perhaps everything around us and even we ourselves are nothing but a dream of Brahman, or Yahweh, or the Tao, what-have-you. But even dreams have a purpose to the dreamer. I do not know what our Source achieves from the dream, but I trust it to be worthy and good. So, I participate in the dream whole-heartedly until the time shall come that I am freed from the dream. Perhaps, then, I will know the purpose; until then, I trust. (It hasn't always been such, btw; I find that life is much more enjoyable, this way, than it was without that faith.) |
