is where you say, "If I am examining a cause ... then it must be part of the universe I can observe". If I am (as I posited elsewhere) not primarily my body, *I* (in that sense) need not be part of the universe you can observe - yet I can be the cause of some things in the universe, such as the movements of my body.

Again, I think the disagreement results from differences in theology, or at least in solutions to the mind-body problem.
