          I would go to a surge supressor that is plugged by Classic_Jon 2008-08-22 11:26:07
directly into the wall. That way you have some protection but do not have the battery back up in the path.

Right now, do your testing to eliminate things and *then* see if you need to purchase something. You may only need to plug the other components into a surge bar and have only the PC on the UPS. Without a meter to see how much power your PC is pulling while in operation, testing like that is about all you can do.
