That expenses I paid or money I earned in 1900, or 1960, or anytime before I actually earned money and paid expenses, means anything at all. The article claims I paid more for gas in the 60's than 10 years ago--emphatically not true. I paid nothing for gas in the 1960's. Therefore, gas is infinitely more expensive for me, now.
