Using their "affordability index" (which incedentally smells to high heaven)1960 being the worst prices ever (for the US) was slated at $1.00 and present day at $1.35. Ok, doesn't seem so bad...however then they point out that the lowest time for gas 1998 was $3.35 and that the higher the number meant lower the price... Does that not mean we are only slightly better than the gas lines of the 1960's? And yes, before the rest of the world jumps all over my hide I acknowledge that the US has some of the cheapest gas in the world and that our price by volume is considered somewhat obscene by the rest of the world.
