| I measure the changes in you. I measure similar changes in others who report a similar change in experience. I look for correlations among the gathered data. Is this significantly different from, say, measuring the rate of acceleration of various falling bodies at various points around the globe and then hypothesizing a constant for gravitational acceleration for the Earth with local variances? How about if I measure the color of various people's eyes, and then correlate that to their genome sequences? What if I make various imaging scans of the brains of various people as well as drawing blood and spinal fluid samples from them and try to correlate those to incidences of schizophrenic behavior among the sampled population? |
