then I think you need to put more wild cards in the blocking string. Don't block one specific add, block them all from that directory on the server, that sort of thing. After a few reloads you should have got most of them that way.
As others have said, noscript can also help on the more complex ads but can be a pain at times.

Personally I'll block anything that is flashing bright colours in my face or pops up, they are too distracting. The rest I'll leave alone.
