Okay, here we go into aesthetics. I've never been here before and I don't really know my way around, but I thought we might as well check it out.
*turns light on*
*blows dust off table*
*searches*
Ah, here we go:
I go to the museum one day and see a really beautiful picture. I'm totally awed by it. Next weekend, I'm out with a friend of mine who also loves art. We go to the museum and look at it again. My friend says, "Wow, you're right - this is really great!" I look at the painting and think "Yeah, whatever - it doesn't look as good as I remember it."
Obviously, something has happened. Have I changed? Has the picture changed? Has my interaction with the picture changed? Or what's going on? |
