UPDATE: PC troubleshooting assistance needed by vampire 2008-08-22 07:12:20
I need some additional advice about this.

After mucking around a LOT, I got the mobo CD out and noticed the install utility had multiple "tabs". One of those tabs installs a mobo monitoring utility. Long story short, after installing it and doing some troubleshooting and monitoring, I am 98% confident that my motherboard is overheating and causing the system to lock up and/or crash. I am also 95% confident that the cause is the quad GPUs I have installed. The CPU never even breaks a sweat.

System specs

The GPU fans seem to be pushing out a lot of heat. But, I don't think it's being removed and so the heat builds up until the system crashes. Now last night (image for reference, and additional images) I relocated the 3 drive SATA array from the front lower bays (lower right) to the drive cage mounted in the rear above the mobo and next to the PSU (upper right). I did this to expose the airflow from the front 120mm fan (right side of image) into the area where the GPUs are (the green tabs on the far left are locks for the expansion slots). This did NOTHING to alleviate the issue. The motherboard runs up to 40C fairly quickly and seems to settle in around 43C when not in use. The threshold is 45 and I imagine this is where the system locks up/crashes.

There is almost identical version of my case. But, with the addition of a 250mm fan on the side panel. Would be nice if I could just purchase the side panel and replace that on my case to see if that would resolve the issue. If it doesn't, I may need to consider more drastic steps such as the LCS version of that case. I thought there was a liquid cooling system for my case. But, I have not been able to locate it.

Of course, I don't need CPU cooling. So, I'd also need to purchase the GPU coolers? However, none of those appears to fit the SLI GPUs that I have. I am not very familiar with solving advanced cooling issues or the equipment. Someone may have a very simple solution. But, I really need some help here.

Suggestions? TIA!
