What a stupid computer 'problem' by Control2008-08-22 04:39:40

Tried booting with a cat on the keyboard...doesn't work.

also couldn't figure out why the POST was successful, but no boot. After opening it up and checking all the cables were tight, I checked the BIOS setup and wondered why it was trying to boot off of a 4Gb drive. The smallest partition I have on my system is 50Gb.

Then it hit me...I'd left my CF card from my camera in the card reader, and for some reason it was trying to boot from the card.
