So shutting them out in the day shouldn't be too much of a hardship? :)

If you're serious enough about making the dust mite situation better, and can spend $$, invest in a front loading washing machine with a built-in water heater. I had to do that a few years ago because val_p and I moved into a place with no hot tap. We needed a machine full stop, though, so it wasn't really too much trouble to get a front loader w/ heater. I can understand if this is out of the question for your guys though. Tis a lot of bother to sell what you've already got and buy something new.

As for the wardrobe arrangements... :p Probably doesn't matter much, then, because the clothing is being moved around enough for dust not to settle? :)
