The biggest recommendation my allergist has given me is to keep the cats out of the bedroom. As much as she may like to have them on the bed with her, keeping their hair out of her sleeping environment is one of the best things to do. Now, I know you have a recent addition of a kitten, but how long have you had the other cat? Because my allergist has also told me that for some/many people, over time they will adjust to their cat(s) and find their allergic reaction improves - even towards strange cats they meet for the first time. As for dust mites... Hot wash all your linen - bedding and towels. Do that weekly. Make sure your clothing isn't collecting dust in the cupboard - keep the doors closed so the dust can't get in and settle. I have more to say but can't say it now. Head dying.
