am i mistaken? linux question by ick2008-07-29 15:33:56
A lot of distros are dropping the whole /usr, by rook_mtl2008-07-29 15:45:01
    Heck, that's *confusing* by smiffy 2008-07-29 16:02:27
Then again, I've been on Un*x systems for a quarter of a century and had been using AIX for some time before I first saw a DOS/Windoze machine (probably why I have never got on with the latter.)

If someone started monkeying around with the 'standard' file system locations like that, I'd be hopelessly lost...

And if you want confusing, my early AIX days didn't have /home - it was /u. So you had /usr and /u - never confused me, but I can see how it would with others. (I then got confused when everything changed to /home and still get confused with the Solaris /exports/home.)
