The view from my side of the desk... by esbita 2008-07-29 15:09:08
...most people listing a height/weight as being classified as moderately overweight are...guess what...moderately overweight. They have a rather thick spare tire, or thunderthighs. While not everyone is genetically disposed to be a size 6 or 8, a fair bit of it is a matter of laying off the Krispy Kremes or getting a bit of exercise.

So far, I've seen all of TWO people who are "muscular" enough to skew the BMI charts. One was a bodybuilder by hobby. The other was a tradesman who did heavy labor. He was Michael Clarke Duncan sort of huge.

Two people, in four years of insurance business... BMI is not *perfect* but the complaints more and more tend to ring like "I'm not fat I'm big boned!" as they get out of breath from climbing the stairs back up from my office.
