It would have been an ass-whooping, being forced to appologize to the girl, and my parents would have hauled my sorry butt down to the police station themselves, likely followed by being grounded until I was 23.

It's knowing there'd be SERIOUS consequences outside of what the law would have done that kept me on the straight and narrow growing up. That and knowing that any wrong-doings would be reported to my parents by any of the neighbors that spotted me.
