I live in the midwest, but experienced an earthquake on my first visit to San Diego. If memory serves (it was close to 20 years ago), it was a 5.8 rated one. Very little damage to buildings, but things were knocked off of store shelves, and the apartment I was in (visiting a friend) had some wall hangings fall to the floor.
Like zelda, I was awakened early in the morning. Between the barely-awake stage and the fact that the ground is NOT supposed to move like that, it was a bit strange on the psyche. |
