I kept journals, off and on, from my adolescence onwards--going back and reading through them, from time to time, often surprised me by showing me just how much my perspective had changed, over the years.

Now, thing is, recalling some of the falderol I wrote in my late teens and early twenties, I strongly suspect that going back and having a nice little heart-to-heart with myself at that age wouldn't make much difference; I doubt I would have listened to myself! ;-)
