With /usr you have normally nothing to do. Your part is /home/ick
Set it up again
first, one swap partition 2 GB
second / partition 10 GB or so
third /home all the free space which is left.
/root and /home as ext 3
for the first time to log in as "root", you have to change the user name in the greeting screen. and you have to type in the password for root. Which is, I hope not the same as your ordinary as user ick. If you been logged in as "root" before, then you have to change the username again. In the greeting manager I have set the user "zoxer" as default. If I want to log in as "root" I have to change it every time I want to.
