My 1 has the up-tick & base bar; my 5 is sharp & not mistakable for the letter s; my 7 has the up-tick & is a sharp angle, but not mistakable as the letter T; my zero has the slash through it, while my letter o's do not.
I broke my arm as a kid & had to teach myself to write with my left hand; for over a year while my right arm was in a cast (don't ask) I still had to do my homework & took great pains to make my penmanship legible.
Once the cast was off, I had to RE-learn how to write with my right hand again, and decided that my "chicken scratch" WAS going to be much, MUCH better this time around.
Now my handwriting is described as "feminine" because I tend to use serifs & long, flowing letters.
(I can write my entire name, all three words, and only need to lift the pen twice; the 2nd time to dot the i.)
