In his book "Valhalla Rising", he has an image of a "rune stone".
The Runes on it have characters that don't seem to correspond to any of the Futhark, Norse, Germanic, nor Gaelic Runes of-which that I am familiar.
Remembering that Runes read Left <-- Right, thus the stone translates as follows:
I A D E O I/J G
? C O E I/J Th
H ? B W C Th U/V F
T ? O I/J ? I/J Z
Where ? is an unknown Rune character, & I/J or U/V is where the Rune can stand for either letter.
Clive, if you're going to write a story involving Vikings, and you include a "Rune Stone" that was supposedly left BY said Vikings, wouldn't it make sense to use the Norse Runes on said stone?
Because I'm not sure what you were trying to say there & it makes you look like a blithering idiot.
So much for a supposedly well-thought-out story.
