Reese's are...atrocious. Of course, while I like peanut butter and chocolate, I primarily like them *separately*...but the "peanut butter food product substitute spread" that they put into Reese's would offend CMOT Dibbler's palate IMHO. (Or maybe not; "Genuine peanut product, got to be, see? It's brown. Got to be peanut product.")
Hershey's makes some rather inexcusable chocolate these days, which is rather sad since several of their products used to be on my "seek out and acquire" list. "Special Dark" seems to have been relegated to the "suck all the life out and sell the corpse" category (used to be a decent plain bar, now it's brown wax with simulated cocoa perfume), and their expensive specialty products miss the mark more often than not.
Good chocolate can be had. (If you live on the north side of Seattle, really good chocolate can be had straight from the factory.) But it's not from Cadbury or Hershey.
(And please, nobody mention "World's Finest Chocolate", the c4 that school children come around trying to sell as a fundraiser.) |
