Political question, but not for US Election thread by ag__wyvern2008-07-10 10:51:47

politicians.

As a group, they took the word of their intelligence groups and their Command in Chief that there were 'good' reasons for engaging Iraq.

So did a large majority of the U.S. populace.

Over time, those reasons were found to be invalid. Many citizens came to realize that they'd been bamboozled.

So did some politicians. Former supporters of the war changed position.

That makes *sense*. Yet, over the last year and a half, we keep hearing "you voted in favour of the war and now you're against it ---- FLIP FLOPPER!"

Flip-flopping (going from A to B to C or A to D or B or C to A ....) is a sign of pure opportunism. Flipping with reason (A to B) is *good*.
