Political question, but not for US Election thread by ag__wyvern2008-07-10 10:51:47
The political answer first: by bitflipper 2008-07-10 10:58:58
We want our leaders to embody Ideals, not to be real people. And that's not necessarily a bad thing to want from someone to whom one is willing to surrender authority.

For the non-political question: a few of my opinions on matters you mention have changed in the past several years, but most have not. Of those that have changed, they changed because new information came to light or the situation in which those opinions were first formed has changed over the years. Does that make me untrustworthy? I doubt it.

But I'm not running for public office and asking millions to put their faith in me, either, so how much I waffle on an issue is nowhere near as relevant as it is for a public figure.
