I needed them. Being willful and Aspie (albeit undiagnosed) I would have gotten myself into whole worlds of trouble if I hadn't been. Examples being situations like me trying to run off knowing I could take a shortcut home through dark park (later I found out there was a reputation for druggies hanging out there)... I'm old enough to know better but all I was thinking was there was a program on TV or something I wanted to get home for. But if Mom hadn't stopped me... and someone had been lurking in there...
