Dust off the brag-rag and start it circulating; it can't hurt to look around and see what's out there.
As for the stupid image propoganda management is telling you to hand out, can you say something like "My boss tells me that [insert lame-o mgt excuse here]?"
For the chewing out, all I can offer is hugs, but you're welcome to as many of those as you want. I'm sure management's being put under pressure, right now, too, so just remember that the stuff's flowing downhill; it might make it a little easier to blow things off when you need to.
