I mean it's just a phone. A closed phone like all those others, except that this one is branded Apple.
It's hardly innovative, except for the multi-touch enabled screen, but you can't get turn-by-turn navigation, because of hardware limitations and licensing limitations. You have to get a very expensive phone package, otherwise it's just a very expensive Ipod. ($600-700 for an unlocked phone, or else $1300 (cumulative) for a locked AT&T phone, if I'm not mistaken)
No, I'll wait until I can get my grubby hands on my own Openmoko Freerunner, $399 unlocked. Sure it doesn't have multi-touch. But it's open, it's unlocked, it's cheaper. |
