you must use the imagetoblob and blob to image functions it you do not use files the format is set by the 'virtual' extension (see manual pages): binmode STDOUT; $image->Write('png:-'); to put an png to stdout should also work this the blob thingies HTH (i have only examples for that purpose in PHP (i.e. read /write images from a database to browser or file in different formats))
