I wasn't sure what you meant was offensive, but you're right, those comments are indeed offensive to Christians who have any sort of understanding of the biblical teaching about love.
I think the "someone" you mention with that quote may have been Jesus :-) Here ya go:
"I tell you the truth, corrupt tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the Kingdom of God before you do. For John the Baptist came and showed you the right way to live, but you didn’t believe him, while tax collectors and prostitutes did. And even when you saw this happening, you refused to believe him and repent of your sins."
The whores and taxmen realised that they were in the wrong but the pharisees/fundies couldn't/wouldn't accept that they'd missed the point completely. |
