Wrenching on this Grand Am, I am; It appears to have had a parade of utter dumb-f4s for owners.
So far, got the broken spark plug out and plugs replaced, fuel filter replaced/fresh fuel in tank/new battery to get the motor to start and run, replaced shift cable bushings on both ends of the cables (had to fabricate from scratch, since they discontinued the cable kit), and now I'm working on finding a replacement gearbox selector lever since the one that was on it is so floppy-worn that it can't drive the gearbox selector shaft down far enough to reach the 5th-gear/reverse gates.
Once I get that, the car will be at least marginally driveable. Then I can start on all the other stuff, like the spidered windshield, worn-out front struts/rear shocks, brake pads/discs/drums, etc. etc. etc. |
