for maybe ten minutes to be able to afford a loaf of bread. If I wanted to make it myself it would take me an hour of labor (if I was even any good at it)... you call that cheap? And that presumes that I already have the grain, which I don't, so I suppose I either need to buy that, or grow it and mill it myself, adding to the cost.
There are people in the world today who grow their own food. They're some of the poorest people in the world, with time for leisure or to produce anything for trade, because feeding themselves takes all their resources. |
