it's a perfectly valid option a combination of the two approaches perhaps. But if so, won't it become a situation that says "Hey ... what am I doing here when there is so many other things to try out there?". In a word, open relationship spoiling your committed relationship. If that didn't make sense, once you try open relationship you may never go back to a closed one.
