please keep in mind there is also a quite powerfull cli by now (well even with 2k3 and xp there were some nice CLI commands, i dont want to miss)

takeown /f <filename> should move the ownership to the user that is executing the command, well unless he has the right to do so.

btw. you are aware that there is a free (yes as in beer) very good online documentation called Microsoft TechNet?
