I started getting political phone calls about the general.

i.e. the day after our third-to-last Primary, I got a call from the McCain campaign. And I'm not even registered as a Republican! Although I used to be. I'm already getting campaign flyers in the mail from our incumbent Republican Senator, trying to stave off his new Democratic challenger. (Unless the incumbent does something really stupid, I'll likely vote for him. The Democratic challenger was not the one I really wanted to win the primary. Had the other guy won the primary, I would have gladly voted for him over the incumbent.)
