PSA: Any medical or related UFies available? by LthrOttr 2008-05-06 00:01:06
With my husband's brother's death, I can't respond to this. However, if other UFies can, it would be excellent. I received this notice as a member of Remote Area Medical's Airborne team as well as as a member of Airdrop Assist:

Dear Friends,

As many of you have heard, a typhoon has hit Burma. Thousands are dead. Serving Others Aid Relief is looking to send a team to respond to this disaster. At this time, we do not have the funding but are looking for one or two large donors to support the mission. If we get the funding, your travel and hotel costs will be paid by SOAR. We would be looking to send a team out around 11 May. The team would deploy for 10 days. If you think this is something you would be able to do, please respond immediately.

Mr. Rene Steinhauer RN, CFRN, EMT-P
Director, Serving Others Aid Relief Inc.

If it weren't for Dan's death, and needing to be here for my husband (see here ), I would be going as a First Responder.

Also, if someone could post a recursive link to this post tomorrow during normal time, I would appreciate it. I doubt I will be able to, but if we have UFies who can respond to this tragedy, we really should share this as much as possible.
