A good many years ago, I ran across a med student who'd been involved in a nutritional study of a number of popular packaged foods. On a lot of them, the rats just got scrawny and sick or fat and sick...on that stuff, the rats just died.
Of course, back in the late '60s Consumer Reports did the classic rat study for nutritional value in breakfast foods...and concluded that there was only one which was worth eating, as *most* of the rats died. I doubt that the results would be dramatically different today. (Oh, BTW, the rats fed both Total and Special K were among the casualties.) |
