rules of attraction by dennismv2008-05-05 18:52:09
  No. by run.dll 2008-05-05 19:01:06
They would sell fewer copies. Our attraction to attractive people would remain. (It has been around for much longer than glossy magazines.)

Think about it. Many of the magazines which rely on pictures of attractive people on the front cover have very little in the way of intelligent articles inside (People Magazine?). When they put B. Spears or Madonna on the front cover, they sell. When they put Joe/Josephina Scientist on the cover, they don't sell.

Magazines such as Scientific American and Skeptical Enquirer don't sell to audiences that look for fluff, so fluff on the front cover is neither needed nor used.
