I think we might be on the verge of some good movi by ag__wyvern 2008-05-05 12:30:40
es.

Marvel Studios is now producing their own films (Iron Man is the first).

While FF/FF2 did well, they didn't do anywhere near as good as Iron Man will.

Hopefully, they'll have figured out that they stand to come out further ahead if they don't kill their franchises with dreck sequels.

With the huge advances in CG, you can get more 'realistic' effects, and make them become part of the story rather than the entire story.

Iron Man is pretty well-written. The Incredible Hulk looks like it might be a keeper.

When you consider the wealth of characters that Marvel and DC have, they could do very well if they carry on as they've started (or re-started) with Iron Man and Batman.

And now that they're rebooting the Hulk, there could be hope yet that characters like Daredevil could reappear in better vehicles.

And yes, Downey was great casting. He played both the character I've never liked as a 'person' and the character I've always liked as a 'hero' *perfectly*.

(BTW... who else's theatres erupted with the 10% scene?)
