He's never used anything but a GUI. Trying to help ease him into the command line via the GUI. It won't be running while the system is in production mode. This is more of a training thing, for the both of us apparently. :P As for the package, apparently removing the CD-burning apps removes the gnome session manager.. which is mind-bogglingly stupid, but there you have it..
