One way or the other, they'll either cease bothering you, or start trying to get you fired. If the latter, thing you can carefully explain that since this is not part of your job it should not be held against you that you failed at it. The obvious risk is, of course, that they'll fire you anyway. You'll have to evaluate the likelihood of that one.
