I fear the phone. I really do. I get questions like "My email doesn't receive faxes because I haven't printed anything off the server in a week." I cannot handle my brain rebooting anymore -- I wait until I'm home, dial in to get the messages while I'm cushioned with a little alcohol. Sometimes I even listen to them, but mostly I just delete them outright. As much as I hate doing things in writing, I pretty much only do requests by email anymore, so that at least the "functionally illiterate" are not able to bother me -- just the "insane but capable of dialling a phone after looking up my cell in the manual". That way, they've at least had to read the manual. Having read but not understanding TFM is understandable/forgiveable. It's never having read TFM that makes me hostile.
