When you watch the movie he never has it, period.

When he is talking to Geordi about giving B4 (the stupid android they find) a copy of his brain, geordi asks something along the line of "Will you fell bad if there is a copy of you out there?" and Data answers "I don't feel anything".

Also if you watch a Deleted seen on the DVD Data and Picard have a big conversation about why it is sad that Riker is leaving the ship to take his own command.
