1958: Johnny and Mark have to assiduously hide how they feel. When they get found out, they both get beaten up, Johnny ends up in the hospital and Mark doesn't make it, and their families and friends disown them. 2008: Johnny and Mark occasionally get a nasty remark when they hold hands or kiss in public, but just as often get smiles, or even cheers and whistles. They set up a household together and after a few years, they adopt a couple of kids and raise them together.
